1. Project Title

"Increasing the company's competitiveness on global markets through the implementation of innovations in the production of furniture components and interior furnishings made from various types of solid wood."

2. Project Description

The project concerns an investment aimed at increasing the innovativeness and competitiveness of a company in the furniture industry – a manufacturer of accessories and components made from solid wood.

The scope of the planned work includes the implementation of modern IT and automation solutions in the production processes of solid wood accessories and components.

These implementations will significantly improve the quality of the offered products and allow for their substantial enhancement. The project will also enable the diversification of the company's production by introducing new products that were previously not manufactured.

The investment, co-financed at nearly 30% by the European Regional Development Fund, under the measure RPSL.03.02.00-IP.01-24-005/16, is being carried out in the municipality of Bielsko-Biała between March 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018.

The main stages of the project include investments in an integrated drying system and a precision wood component machining center, along with the automation of the lacquering process.

The total value of the project is PLN 7,294,390.77, with EU funding amounting to PLN 1,717,115.14.

3. Diagnosis, Project Goals and Implementation in Line with ROP Silesia (Priority Axis, Measure)

The goal of the project is to enhance the innovativeness and competitiveness of the company on both international and domestic markets.

The planned investment is based on the market potential of the products to be implemented by the company, which addresses previously unmet needs and expectations of customers, such as:

– availability of new, previously unavailable products,

– the highest possible quality of solid wood accessories,

– reduced lead time, especially for custom orders,

– increased price competitiveness,

– introduction of user- and environmentally-friendly products to the market.

Meeting the above expectations through the implementation of this project will positively impact SIRO-Bielsko’s competitiveness compared to other companies in the industry. This will be achieved by eliminating or reducing internal barriers to the company’s dynamic growth, such as:

– insufficient quality,

– lack of flexibility in order fulfillment processes,

– higher than expected consumption of materials, energy, and fuel,

– higher labor costs due to lack of automation,

– lack of precise and automated lacquering technologies.

The planned investment will overcome all the above internal barriers and effectively utilize the identified market potential.

2. Project Description

The project concerns an investment aimed at increasing the innovativeness and competitiveness of a company in the furniture industry – a manufacturer of solid wood accessories and components.

The scope of the planned work includes the implementation of modern IT and automation solutions in the production processes of solid wood accessories and components.

These implementations will enhance the quality of the offered products and enable their significant improvement. The project will also allow for the diversification of the company's production by introducing new products that have not been manufactured before.

The investment is co-financed at nearly 35% by the European Regional Development Fund,

under measure RPSL.03.02.00-IP.01-24-009/17, and is being implemented in the municipality of Bielsko-Biała from March 5, 2018 to November 30, 2019.

The main stage of the project involves the implementation of an integrated technological line for the precision processing of asymmetrical components within the company’s operations.

The total value of the project is PLN 1,892,000.00, with the contribution from EU funds amounting to PLN 660,308.00.

The objective of the project is to increase the company's innovativeness and competitiveness on international and domestic markets through the implementation and commercialization of product innovations and process innovations.

The rationale behind the planned investment lies in the market potential of the company’s new products, which respond to previously unmet needs and expectations of customers in the following areas:

– availability of new, previously unavailable products,

– the highest possible quality of solid wood accessories,

– shorter lead times, particularly for non-standard orders,

– improved price competitiveness,

– the introduction of user- and environmentally-friendly products to the market.

Meeting the above expectations through the implementation of the project will positively influence SIRO-Bielsko’s competitive position in the industry. This will be achieved by eliminating or reducing internal barriers to dynamic company growth, such as:

– insufficient precision in processing,

– lower-than-expected flexibility and insufficiently short lead times, especially for custom orders,

– higher labor costs due to low automation of processes,

– increased risk of accidents and/or equipment failure.

The investment, in its planned form, will overcome all of the above internal barriers and will effectively leverage the advantages associated with the identified market potential.
